Roxburgh Park is a suburb of Melbourne located in the state of Victoria, Australia. It is situated approximately 22 kilometers north of Melbourne's central business district and adjacent to the Melbourne Airport. It is bounded by four motorways, including the Hume Freeway, Western Ring Road, Metropolitan Ring Road, and the Craigieburn Bypass. With a population of over 21,000 people, Roxburgh Park is a rapidly growing suburb.

The history of Roxburgh Park dates back to the early 1800s when it was inhabited by the Wurundjeri people. They lived in the area for thousands of years before European settlement. The first European settlers in the area were the Hume brothers who were on an exploration mission to reach Port Phillip Bay. They passed through the area in 1824, but it was not until the 1830s that Europeans began to settle in the area.

One of the first Europeans to settle in the area was a farmer named William John Turner. He settled in the area in the 1830s and established a large farm. The farm was known as Roxburgh and was named after Turner's birthplace in Scotland. The area around the farm became known as Roxburgh Park, and the name has remained to this day.

During the 1860s, a railway line was built through the area connecting Melbourne to Sydney. This brought an influx of people to the area, and farming became the primary occupation in the area. In the 1970s, the area began to change with the construction of Melbourne Airport. The airport brought job opportunities to the area, and as a result, the population began to grow.

The construction of Roxburgh Park began in the 1980s, and the first houses were built in the early 1990s. The suburb was designed as a master-planned community, and its design included extensive parklands and walking paths, making it an attractive place to live. The suburb has grown rapidly since then, and it is now home to a diverse range of cultures and nationalities.

Today, Roxburgh Park is a vibrant community with a range of amenities and facilities. The area has two large shopping centers, including Roxburgh Park Shopping Centre and Roxburgh Village Shopping Centre. There are also several primary and secondary schools in the area, making it a popular choice for families.

The area's proximity to major motorways and the Melbourne airport has made it a strategic location for business and commercial developments. The suburb is now home to several major companies, including Amazon, Visy, and Coles.

In conclusion, the history of Roxburgh Park stretches back to the early 1800s when it was inhabited by the Wurundjeri people. The area was settled by Europeans in the 1830s, and farming became the primary occupation in the area. The construction of Melbourne Airport in the 1970s brought job opportunities to the area, and the suburb was built in the 1980s as a master-planned community.
